From the battlefield to the nation's capitol, V Dot Nam has proven to be the genius behind a whole industry. While being the 2nd rapper to own an university, he has hit the point where no more students can enroll. With website domain stats hitting 5 million before the official launch of the Semi-Pros, this Technologist/Rapper has did what no other artist have done. The definition of V Dot Nam is Vietnam Detroit Ohio Texas Nine11 Akron & Michigan. Born in Little Vietnam, Detroit. Raised in Ohio. Became an underground legend in Texas. His first rap group name was Nine11. Akron is the city where he spent his high school years as a TrackStar. Last but not least, Michigan is where he was made. Within a multi-class family, he is the product of many environments.
Born as Elven Jones Jr, he is the youngest out of 2 families of 8. During 4th grade, V and his friend from Copley was featured on the front page of the Akron Beacon Journal. During middle school, he leaved in the hoodest part of Sandusky, "Sunnyside Park". He won multiple championships in Track & Cross Country from 2002-2005. Graduated with Garfield High School along with Beanie then shipped out to boot camp 7 days after graduation. During 2004-05, he dropped a mini-Midwest Classic called "DT 2 AK-Town". The first radio station that played it was WZIP 88.1 FM.
He is the 2nd Nephew to Charlie Hearndon, of the legendary soul group, "New Birth". From being behind the scenes to designing high quality artwork; V Dot Nam has served/ is serving in the industry as a songwriter, A&R, manager and publicist. V started off as an recording engineer and producer for the group Cut Throat Cartel (formerly known as Cut Throat Entertainment/ Underground Etc.) in the beginning of his musical voyage (Killeen (TX), 2006).
Being in the Lone star state, he learned the meaning of "Wreckin Shop" and from then on Nam been banging the sounds of the great DJ Screw, SUC, Guerrilla Maab, Dead End Alliance and many great Texas legends. V Dot maturity shows from him being brought up by OGs and veterans. While serving full duty in the U.S. Army. Stationed in Fort Hood, he formed a group which he considered as a town (Welcome 2 Tho' wd Town also known as W2TT) along with several other groups "Click Thowd" & "W2TT LaFamilia".
VDotNam's first mixtape was entitled "Before Da Show", which featured Cha' lie Boy, Tum Tum (from DSR), SparkDawg, RCC CTC J-Money, Roscoe Da Balla and many more. 2 weeks after street success,he made his first industry appearance in a showcase that him and "Big Sho Daz" hosted for 2 consecutive weeks in Central Texas. Not knowing that V would eventually be a DJ crew mate with one of Hip Hop's greatest DJs, DJ Chuck T, Chuck congratulated him on the performance after the show. Before leaving the state of Texas, he recorded over 20 albums within a 6 month period. Therefore leaving as a Texas legend at the time. In the beginning of '07, V worked as an in-house producer for Atlantic Records for a couple months then he went on to creating his own label in 2007, GrindHouse Records. During this time era, he produced, written, engineered and mixed his first independent album "The Definition of...", which other consider as a Greatest Hits collection. Two years afterwards, he met with a gentleman that got him a graphic gig with Freeway Ricky Ross during his incarceration.
Shortly afterwards, he took a trip to Miami, where he got the privilege to kick it with Big Mike, Double D and Wu-Tang Clan's Future Chamber in South Beach. All within a month, he created a theme songs for VOSS Water, Club Madonna and the Miami Heat basketball team (before Lebron came in). This trip was not to just push the music, but it was to show the world what he could do in only 1 month while being down there. The whole time Nam was in the MIA, he marched through the trenches of Little Haiti; lived in Miami Beach with a yacht in the backyard; Pushed music through North Beach heading to South Beach to push more music. I can't forget that one time when this little Italian boy said "look Mommy its V Dot Nam" and wanted to take a picture for his favorite artist collection.
When he got back to the Great Lakes, he ventured off into a new direction within his career and created a worldwide hall of fame for the Hip-Hop genre online; designing a website that consisted of the same functions of Facebook, Myspace, Youtube and Reverbnation all in one. He worked on that project for a couple years to put experience under his belt, then at the tail-end of that company's development; he branched off to create a his own magazine, Hip Hop Empire.
By Mid-2013, Hip Hop Empire Magazine consisted of 4 multimedia outlets: Magazine, Mixtapes, "EmpireVizion" TV & "WHHE EmpiRadio". In 2014, "EmpireIAM" was created to serve as a social platform for artists, DJs, producers, models and businesses to promote and network on. September 2015, Mr. Jones introduced EmpireIAM as the Semi-Major Recording Industry to the FCC. A month later, he marched at the Justice Or Else Rally and appeared at Silicon Valley Harlem.
