As for the login/logout problem, I've been working on this for the last 3-4 days now and I'm almost 100% positive it is a cookies problem. I've cleared my offtheave.com cookies from Google Chrome, Firefox & I.E on 2 computers and can confirm that I am now able to login and logout globally with no more problems. So you all will need to clear your cookies if you find that logging in up top doesn't log you into the forums.. or if logging out up top doesn't log you out of the forums as well.

*EDIT: After you clear your cookies, restart your web browser.

I'm led to believe this problem is ONLY for those of us who were registered and active on the site (visiting frequently) BEFORE the new OTA. Those who have registered after should be fine. But then again, I can only speak from my own testing experience. So I need you all to confirm this method works so that I know the site works, as far as that aspect. If not, then I have to go back to the drawing board. But once we can confirm it, and fix any other errors, we can then move on to the next stage of the new ota: power promoting.

Tools > Options > Privacy > remove individual cookies. > Search for: offtheave.com and remove ALL cookies for offtheave.com

For Google Chrome:
Settings (The wrench) > Options > Under the Hood > Privacy - Content settings > Cookies > Show cookies and other site data... > Search for: offtheave.com and remove ALL cookies for offtheave.com

well, i removed all the cookies but still i get the same problem.. when i sign in on the front page it takes me to my profile which is fine.. but when i click on forums from my profile it logs me out again. So, in order to log in to forums i have to click reply or create a new thread which is fine for now, but i hope u fix this..

Did you make sure to restart your browser? If not, could you try it again? This time, re-deleting the cookies and then restarting the browser.

Yea, exactly what coolio is sayin was happening to me yesterday. I couldn't even post on the forums I could only log on the main site. Every time I clicked forums or community or anything it would log me out but after clearing my cookies in Opera everything seems to be working fine. I didn't even hafta restart my browser. :P

And could you guys explain exactly what happens when you view profiles? Do you click on the profile names from here, from the main site, what's the exact link to the page that kicks you off, ect.? More ppl need to step up, this info is crucial.

It wasn't any specific link.. It was just switching from the main site or /user-home to any of the forums it would log me out and I just wrote a long ass reply to the computer thread and it logged me out and I had to relog in but it wouldn't let me so I deleted the cookies again and everything is working once again.

Coolio G, what internet browser are you on?

I spoke with rumar, flawless and krakaman about this. Flawless and krakaman had no problems but Rumar had this problem in IE8. So he downloaded firefox and was able to login/logout globally with no problems.

The weird part about it is that since he's downloaded firefox, he can now login/logout globally on IE8... the same browser that wasn't allowing him to do it in the first place. So I'm thinking it's some sort of stale file that's not updating on the ppl's computer that are having this problem. Once I get more info, i can get a better idea of where to look next

I should also mention that if you are logged out of the forums, and still logged into the new OTA (community, videos, music, groups, polls ect.) you will need to sign out from there THEN sign back in, in order to sign into the forums again.

I think this might be your problem coolio g. The forum user sessions is expiring before the new ota user sessions, which in turn logs you out of the forums for XX minutes of inactivity. I'm trying to get both scripts to sync up for expired user sessions so that when you're inactive for a period of time, you get logged out globally.. not just the forums. Once I fix that, I think it should eliminate confusion and frustration.
